The Bike Exchange has a large selection of good quality, low cost used bikes for all bike riders, 3 years to 100 years old, from occasional weekend rider to serious road rider. All bikes are reconditioned and are ready to ride. You can ride the bike before you purchase.
The Trenton Exchange is located in the Capitol Plaza Shopping Center at 1500 N. Olden Avenue in Ewing, NJ, (near Lawrenceville and Trenton) and is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00Pm to 8:00PM. The Exchange is 8 miles from Princeton and easily accessable by NJ Transit bus number 606....see "Location" link on this web site.
The Newark Bike Exchage is located at 31 Central Avenue in downtown Newark. The Newark Exchange is open Thursdays from 5:00 to 8:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 5:00.
The Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange is an all volunteer effort that collects, condtions and sells used bikes from its shops in Newark and Trenton. The mission of the Bike Exchange is...
- To provide a source of low cost quality bikes for families and individuals in Mercer County and Newark
- To raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton and Newark, NJ
The Exchange accepts donated bikes which are reconditioned and sold by volunteers. To donate a bike(s) take it to the Trenton or Newark Bike Exchange during normal business hours, or go to "Donate Your Bike" link on this web site to see locations that accept bikes for the Exchange
All individuals working at the Exchange are volunteers. Use of the retail space for the Trenton Exchange in the Capitol Plaza has been donated by Levin Management Corporation. Prudential Real Estate has donated use of 31 Central Avenue to the Newark Bike Exchange.
All money received from the sale of bikes goes to support the Trenton and Newark Boys & Girls Clubs' after-school programs.
To volunteer go to the "Contact Us" link on this web site and send a message that you are interested in volunteering. We need volunteers to repair bikes, to help people move bikes to our shop, and to help people select a bike.
The mission of the Boys & Girls Club is to inspire and enable young people, especially those in disadvantaged situations, to realize their full potential as productive, responsive and caring citizens. More information about the Trenton and Newark Boys & Girls Clubs is available at www.bgctrenton.org and www.bgcn.org
The Trenton Exchange also accepts bike store quality bikes on consignment. Bikes accepted for consignment must be in good condition, must have had a new bike purchase price that exceeded $400, and must have a current value greater than $200 as determined by Exchange's management. The Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange charges $75 for selling a consigned bike...the owner of the bike will receive all proceeds from the sale less $75. Bikes for consignment must be delivered to the Exchange's shop during our business hours...Thursdays between 5 and 8 and Saturdays between 10 and 5
