The New Jersey Bike Exchange is a non-profit organization run by the efforts of volunteers who collect, condition, and sell used, quality bikes from shops in Plainfield, Newark, and Trenton. The Bike Exchange offers a large selection of low cost bikes for all riders, from 3 years of age to 100 years of age, from occasional or weekend riders to serious or frequent riders. All bikes sold are reconditioned and ready to ride. Drivers can test ride before purchase.
The missions of the Bike Exchange:
1) To provide low cost, quality bikes for families and individuals in Mercer County, Plainfield, Newark, and New Brunswick.
2) To raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Trenton, Plainfield, and Newark, NJ. All proceeds from the sales of the bikes go to support the Trenton, Newark, and Plainsfield Boys & Girls Club's after-school programs.
To volunteer, go to "Contact Us" and send us a quick message, telling us why you are interested in volunteering. We currently need volunteers to repair bikes, to help donators move bikes to our shop, and to aid customers in selecting a bike.
The Bike Exchange accepts bike donations. The Trenton Bike Exchange also accepts store-quality bikes on consignment. Bikes accepted for consignment must be in good condition. The Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange charges $75.00 for selling a consigned bike. The owner of the bike will receive all proceeds from the sale less than $75.00. Bikes for consignment must be delivered to the Exchange's shop during our business hours (Thursdays between 5:00PM and 7:45PM and Saturdays between 10:00PM and 3:45PM).
